WHAT TO BRING FISHING

As your fishing guide, I believe that a fishing day is more than just an enjoyable experience—it's an opportunity to reconnect with nature and find solace from the demands of everyday life. To ensure your outing is both safe and gratifying, it's essential to be well-prepared. With my expertise and passion for fishing, I am committed to providing you with a personalized and exceptional experience on the water.  Here is a list of things to prepare for before our fishing day.

Essential Items for your Fishing Trip

Fishing License and Identification:

A fishing license is required to fish in Lake Hartwell. The fishing license may be obtained from either the Georgia Department of Natural Resources or the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources.

Sunscreen:

Spending a day under the sun can be invigorating, but it is essential to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Don't forget to pack a high-quality sunscreen with a sufficient sun protection factor (SPF). Apply it generously before heading out and remember to reapply throughout the day to shield your skin from sunburns and potential long-term damage.

Preferred Food and Refreshments:

Although we provide bottled water to keep you hydrated, it's always a good idea to bring your preferred food items and drinks. Sustaining your energy levels with snacks and staying hydrated will enhance your fishing experience. Whether it's a hearty sandwich, some fruit, or your favorite energy bars, having food on hand ensures you can refuel and stay focused on reeling in that big catch.

Inclement Weather Clothing:

Mother Nature can be unpredictable, so it is wise to prepare for varying weather conditions. Check the forecast before your fishing trip and pack appropriate clothing layers. Opt for lightweight and moisture-wicking materials to keep you cool on hot days, and don't forget to bring a waterproof jacket or rain gear in case of unexpected showers. It's better to be prepared and comfortable throughout the day.

Life Jacket for Children Under 12:

Safety should always be a top priority, especially when fishing with children. If you plan to bring kids under the age of 12, ensure that they have properly fitted life jackets. These life-saving devices will give you peace of mind while your little ones explore the excitement of fishing. Remember, their safety is of utmost importance, so make sure they wear their life jackets at all times near water bodies.

Camera or Go Pro

Feel free to bring your camera or GoPro along for our fishing trip, as there will be plenty of memorable moments to capture. However, I kindly request that you refrain from bringing a drone on board. Let's focus on enjoying the fishing experience and the beautiful surroundings without any disruptions.

Remember to pack your fishing license (see above), identification, sunscreen, preferred food and refreshments, appropriate clothing for inclement weather, and a life jacket for children under 12. With these items in tow, you'll be well-equipped to enjoy a successful and enjoyable fishing on Lake Hartwell.
