Don's love for fishing first took root during his childhood, as he fondly recalls spending summers and family vacations pier fishing in the Gulf of Mexico alongside his grandmother and grandfather. Those early experiences nurtured his passion for the sport and ignited a lifelong connection to the water.

In his mid-twenties, Don received an invitation to participate in a bass fishing tournament, which proved to be a pivotal moment in his life. It was during this event that he discovered his true calling—bass fishing. From that point forward, Don immersed himself in the world of competitive fishing, participating in tournaments and honing his skills on various bodies of water.

Don's journey has taken him from the serene lakes of Canada to the sun-soaked waters of Florida, and even to the picturesque Cabo San Lucas in Mexico. Along the way, he has successfully fished in tournaments and had the privilege of hosting private parties and public events, sharing his expertise and passion with fellow anglers. Don also honed his skills through the guidance of renowned anglers, including Justin Lucas, the 2018 Bassmaster Angler of the Year, and Aaron Martens, a three-time Bassmaster Angler of the Year (2005, 2013, 2015).

Equipped with a degree in hospitality and service, as well as four decades of experience in the fishing industry, Don has made the decision to merge his love for bass fishing with his professional background. He has chosen to embark on a new chapter as a bass fishing guide, focusing his efforts on his favorite body of water, Lake Hartwell.

With his recent relocation to the local area, Don is eager to embrace retirement by doing what he truly loves—bass fishing. His ultimate goal is to provide others with unforgettable fishing experiences, combining his knowledge, skills, and enthusiasm to create memorable adventures on the water.

As Don begins this new chapter in his life, he remains steadfast in his dedication to the sport and in sharing his passion with others. Through his guidance and expertise, he aims to offer an exceptional fishing experience to fellow enthusiasts, ensuring that they too can indulge in the joys of bass fishing on Lake Hartwell.
